休士顿华夏中文学校为非营利性教育机构。自1993年建校以来，在热心人士及社会团体的大力支持下，华夏中文学校发展成休士顿地区规模最大的中文学校。在校学生人数已超过2,000名,
学科齐全,设备完善,师资精良,教学一流。
2004年中国政府在休士顿地区举办的汉语水平考试（HSK）中，华夏中文学校参加考试的学生人数最多，其中有两人获得满分（300分），八人获得290分以上的优异成绩，并荣获中国政府颁发的暑期赴北京语言培训班的奖学金。在整个美南地区，休士顿华夏中文学校学生获得奖学金的人数名列第一。

为了推广中文教育，服务西北地区，于2004年秋季特别成立了西北分校。现继续对外扩大招生。西北分校的中文课以教授简体字、普通话、汉语拼音为主。依中文程度分班，从学前汉语拼音班至八年级。除中文课之外，还设有SAT英数能力提高班和英文写作提高班，以及才艺课程（包括绘画、舞蹈、武术、书法、象棋、手工艺、速算、成人太极拳班）。才艺课及英数能力提高班可单独报名。所有课程皆聘请热心负责，有实际教学经验，有爱心的老师授课。
The Houston Hua-Xia Chinese school is a
non-profit educational organization. Hua-Xia has grown to be the largest
Chinese language school in the Houston area since its establishment in
1993. Currently Hua-Xia has more than 2,000 students in 7 Houston area
campuses.
At the HSK (The
Chinese Proficiency Test) of 2004,
Hua-Xia had the most students attending the test. 2 students achieved the
300 points (the perfect score), and 8 got over 290 points. This is the best
among all the Chinese schools in the Southwestern region of USA.
In order to
serve the need in the northwest Harris County area, Hua-Xia opened its northwest branch in fall 2004. The
Northwest branch teaches Simplified Chinese, Mandarin and
Pinyin. The Chinese language classes are offered based on different levels
of Chinese language skills of the students, from pre-school to 8th
grades. Our curriculums emphasize all four language skills: listening,
speaking, reading, and writing. We focus on conversation skills at the
beginning level and reading and writing skills at the more advanced levels.
Chinese culture and history are incorporated into the curriculum of all
language courses. Besides Chinese language classes, Hua-Xia also offers SAT
English/Math classes and extra curriculum classes (dance, art, kung-fu,
craft, chess, adult Chinese conversation, number sense and adult Tai-Chi).
